My connection to the land and rural community is generational. In 1912, my family arrived in Canada from Ukraine and was granted farmland that remains proudly in our family to this day.
Growing up in Beachville, Ontario—a close-knit village of around 800 people—taught me early on that trust is earned through face-to-face accountability, looking out for your neighbours, and respecting rural heritage.
Today, I live right in the heart of Everett with my fiancée, Vera, and our dogs. As stewards of local history, we took on the restoration and adaptive redevelopment of the historic 1906 Methodist Church at the main intersection of Everett, converting it into our family home and preserving a defining piece of our township’s architectural heritage.

For too long, major municipal decisions have been sealed inside closed sessions or made without meaningful grassroots input. We are changing that from day one by establishing structured, citizen-led Hamlet & Ward Action Groups across Adjala-Tosorontio.
With the support of our residents and Council, we will amend our procedural by-laws to host official, voting Council meetings and town halls on a rotating schedule in local community halls—especially when the agenda heavily impacts that specific area.
If an issue directly impacts Lisle, Everett, Loretto, or Glencairn, Council should meet in that community. By-law amendments will allow official meetings to take place where residents live.
Recommendations from Hamlet Action Groups won't be filed away. Under structured Terms of Reference, citizen findings are formally submitted to public Council meetings as action items.
Ward Councillors will hold regular, structured roundtables with their local groups, creating proactive communication and eliminating the "Town Hall vs. Residents" disconnect.
Smarter, nature-based wastewater solutions for Adjala-Tosorontio.
As our township expands wastewater capacity for Everett and decommissions older facilities, we cannot settle for the bare minimum provincial discharge standards when disposing effluent into the sensitive, cold-water ecosystem of the Pine River.
I advocate for enhancing our facility with Constructed Wetland Tertiary Polishing—modeled after the award-winning environmental infrastructure in Loyalist Township, Ontario.
Treated wastewater passes through engineered wetland cells filled with native plants, filtering up to 90% of micro-pollutants and regulating temperature before reaching the river.
Because wetlands rely on natural biological systems rather than heavy electricity and chemical dosing, they reduce ongoing mechanical maintenance and utility bills for ratepayers.
Instead of an industrial fenced compound, modern constructed wetlands create valuable wildlife habitat, walking paths, and community parkland funded by developer charges and green grants.
